The Only 4 Knives You Actually Need
Ever feel like cooking just takes too much time? If you’re like most of my clients, there’s a good chance you could be more efficient in the kitchen.
There are a lot of little things that you might not even think much about that could be slowing you down, and making everything more challenging. Knives are one of the first places I look with people.
Generally, my first question when going to a client home is “how sharp is your chef’s knife?” It’s not about the brand name or the style of the knife, it’s about whether or not your knives are helping you be as efficient as possible in the kitchen.
I’ve inherited plenty of knives over the years, but honestly, most of them never get used. Even if they were sharp (which, most definitely are not), I still really wouldn’t see the use, because in my opinion, you really only need 3-4 knives.
If you’re a semi-pro chef or making a lot of homemade sushi, you might need more than 4 knives. But if you’re just a home chef that doesn’t really do anything crazy in the kitchen, you don’t need an intricate, 36 piece knife set.
Some obvious, but others maybe not so much, learn about my favorite 4 knives in the video below!
